  Exodus 20:20 "And Moses said unto the people, Fear not: for God is come to prove you, and that his fear may be before your faces, that ye sin not." - that we cause not god grief or others grief................god never was being the ruler slap type. The 10 commandments were and are for our own good, and I realize many think they don't need the 10 commandments - that they automatic heed them and don't need to read the old testiment - ok fine you go ahead do that don't read the old testiment then. 

  Don't hate on my messianic jew self though for wanting to read the old testiment and liking the old testiment................don't be haters.

 If you are of the poo poo the old testiment, poo poo that whole bit of the bible........still if you break a 10 commandment............you still sinned then.....so from my messianic jew viewpoint, it's plenty good idea to be pretty well familiar with the 10 commandments ANYWAYS..........but I find the whole old testiment helpful. I don't get most of the body of christ's hatred for the old testiment????????????

  Leviticus 4:21-23 "And he shall carry forth the bullock without the camp, and burn him as he burned the first bullock: it is a sin offering for the congregation. When a ruler hath sinned, and done somewhat through ignorance against any of the commandments of the Lord his God concerning things which should not be done, and is guilty;  Or if his sin, wherein he hath sinned, come to his knowledge; he shall bring his offering, a kid of the goats, a male without blemish:"

   Sin separates us from God (until we repent, or if we a Jew "bring his offering, a kid of the goats, a male without blemish")

  And sin GRIEVES GOD............and causes much grief!!!!!!! Also to sometimes maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnny many many many many people. 

  God wants you "restored" to him though. And I think restored back to fellowship, back to like society as well.
