I've been told only rich people that "gain the world" loose themselves, but I think if you do everything the world does cause your saved by grace, how you even know who you are at some point???????????????

  I mean the whole world can put the christian stamp on themselves can't they. Matthew 7:13-14 "Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it." It ain't at the broad way "the gate" ain't the way that 99% of people go on out there. 
  If you ask most 99% of the world has gained the whole world, the whole world even though they ain't technically "rich"
Mark 8:36 "For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?" Am I stupid for fearing god so bad I am hesistant to say the least to get a tattoo???????????????????? How do you know if that next thing that's it you'll loose your soul.

  It's in the "gaining" of the world this is what I know, that is how people loose their souls...........the gate to heaven is "straight and narrow"

I want a tattoo though, and it sucks to be me so bad. 

ya I have "pushed the envelope" a few times

but even I at some point fear god

am a bit unsure

because as long as I refrain from the things I refrain from................looks to be tattoo's, getting drunk, immodest attire, uhhhhhhhhh sexual immorality, uhhhhhhhhh ummmmmmmm.................
my point is real if I refrain for good from them things, I will never ever EVER, "gain the whole world"
 Even if the whole world loved me one day................and it "seemed" like I had gained the world. 
 My concern will always be to be faithful in the few things god has given me to be faithful in Matthew 25:23 "His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord."
