when I was like 12-13 learning how to swim and I told the lifeguard I said I will sink to the bottom of the pool and not be able to swim back up (she wanted us to dive off a very high diving board) 

and she's like no your doing this I'm going to count to 10 and if you don't do it ----------- (some big penalty I don't remember what ------------ I think I was about to be kicked out of swim school and I wanted to learn how to swim) 

so I jump

I sank all the way to the bottom

she did rescue me - seemed to take forever though

maybe it didn't and that was just me "freaking out" 

but swear I sat there at the bottom of that pool FOREVER, tried to swim up and tried nothing I wasn't able to move nowhere
